Wow, what a busy month it's been. End of June already, so a bit of catching up to do.
Lots of contest entered, and already have won the first one. It's a small thing - but it seems to never get old.
This was for Photography Week magazine (only iPad app).
The contest was for Outdoor portraits. The winning pic was from the fantastic photoshoot i just recently did with Chevon in Mississauga. So many great photos.
Also in the last month or so I have managed to get roughly 6 new photos up on the Vogue Italia site. I know, it's bit trivial. But I know it's hard to even get considered.
Lets see, what else. I sold my film camera (Nikon FM3a) but it was collecting dust . I LIKE the process of shooting film. I don't like the cost associated, and being on a tight budget it's just not worth it. If I was hardcore, maybe i'd learn to develop film myself. But I'm lazy and I also run 3 different business!!
Woke up this morning and found out I had Photo of the Day on Seeance Magazine. I've never really heard of it before, but seemingly it's quite big in Europe. One of my favourite photographers, Jan Scholz, was the photo pic a few weeks ago and he seemed pretty chuffed by it. So I figured why the hell not?
Oh, and Eric Kim was in town again and I missed him for a second time. Well, gives me a better reason to drive to Detroit, which I had been hoping to do anyway.
THE BIGGEST news for me this month is ACF Magazine is finally on the newsstands. This is my first real foray into shooting fashion and i can't even say how excited I am. I have 3 editorial spreads in this issue and 4 in the next issue. Things have happened so fast - it's just over a year ago I said I would like to try my hand at Fashion.
I've been lucky to have worked with some fantastic models and crews, and a magazine that really stuck it's neck out in hiring me. And most importantly a VERY understanding girlfriend.
More to come. Now back to reading Steve Huff's review of the new Ricoh GR... might be my next camera!!!
